The Gorge Hubs were founded on the idea of enhancing recreation opportunities for travelers and boost economic development in six Columbia River Gorge communities. The project provides destinations for travelers, especially hikers and bikers, travelling along the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail.
Through ongoing engagement with the West Columbia Gorge Chamber of Commerce, stakeholders, and the communities, we have finalized conceptual designs for the Troutdale and Wood Village Hubs and have completed construction documents. Each Hub provides pedestrian plazas with decorative stone-faced walls, Gorge Hub signage and maps, bike fix-it stations and other additions ranging from an historic railcar to locally produced art displays.
