For Murphy Plywood’s two-story headquarters, the landscape extends the workplace beyond the building. A furnished patio with a fire table and grill gives employees a place to gather throughout the day, while tree-lined walks connect the site through a restrained, low-maintenance landscape. Vegetated rain gardens and a simple planting palette bring structure, texture, and seasonal interest throughout the site.
“We wanted the landscape to give people a reason to step outside during the workday.””
“Drifts of low ornamental grasses, sweeps of native planting, and an allée of Himalayan white birch give the landscape its structure and seasonal character.”
